"The long awaited Statutory Residence Test is with us at last. As a result of a quirk in the legislative process, the rules are in force from 6 April 2013 (draft legislation was published in Finance Bill 2013) but changes can still be made up until Royal Assent is granted some time in July. Far from a simple day count, the new rules are supplemented by extensive HMRC Guidance. Whether the test is "transparent, objective and simple to use" in accordance with the Government's objective, remains to be seen."NEWS FEED
