Non-Domicile consultation published

Partner Arabella Murphy, Head of Private Wealth, was quoted in an article in the Financial Times on 1 October 2015 on the Treasury’s consultation regarding proposed changes to the taxation of non-UK domiciled individuals.

Whilst the indications in the consultation paper are that offshore trusts will be afforded helpful protection from tax under the new rules, Arabella “warned that the technical difficulties of drafting the offshore trust rules would potentially end up with the detailed legislation being delayed until the 2017 finance bill”.  You can see the full article (requires subscription) here.
