Why universities are not listed on the Charity Commission, and what it means for you

Despite the UK being a well-known destination for higher education, there is little publicity about the charitable status of its universities. A significant number of universities in England and Wales are in a separate category of charities known as ‘exempt’ charities, which may have consequences in the event of a serious incident.
