COLP Forum - September 2015

On Tuesday 29 September 2015, a forum for Compliance Officers for Legal Practice (COLPs) took place at the offices of Maurice Turnor Gardner LLP to examine the cyber security threats facing, in particular, the legal services industry and the action firms should be taking to respond to this threat.

The digital revolution has transformed the world of business, with professional services firms and their clients more digitally active than ever before. However, this increased connectivity brings with it a wealth of new risks and challenges to be tackled. In particular, instances of cybercrime against organisations are increasing at an alarming rate.

With the protection of confidential information of critical importance to the sustainability and competitiveness of businesses today, and the consequences of security breaches potentially incredibly damaging, an action plan to protect client information and money from cybercrime is vital to every firm.
