Anna Gaston Counsel
Anna advises a wide range of private clients including high net worth individuals, financial institutions, family offices, charities, trustees and beneficiaries on a variety of matters including trust law, international and UK estate and succession planning and charity law issues.
She focuses on advising trustees, beneficiaries and settlors on all matters relating to the structuring, establishment and ongoing administration of trusts, in contentious and non-contentious situations, and advising UK based and international individuals and trustees in relation to their UK tax exposure. She practiced in the Channel Islands for three years and has particular experience in advising on the creation of complex offshore trust and foundation structures.
Anna also assists and advises clients in relation to the establishment of UK charities or donor advised funds as well as offshore charitable trusts and foundations, and advises existing charities with their administration and ongoing management.
Anna advises private clients with their domestic and international estate planning, including the inheritance tax, legal and practical aspects of lifetime gifts and preparation of lasting powers of attorney.
Anna was listed as one of the Private Client Global Elite's "Ones to Watch" by Legal Week in 2019. She obtained her LLB in Law from the University of Durham and trained at Boodle Hatfield LLP before moving to Bedell Cristin in Jersey on qualification in October 2012. Anna joined Maurice Turnor Gardner LLP in 2015.
