Edward Burton Counsel
Edward specialises in acting for private clients in relation to prime and super prime residential property.
He has experience in working across the spectrum of residential property work, from listed buildings on the London estates and new build super prime apartments to country houses. He regularly acts on the highest value and most complex deals in London. He also advises on enfranchisement and lease extensions as well as working closely with the Private Wealth team on residential property structures. Edward is used to exchanging and completing transactions in very short time frames, and at times, within a day.
Having obtained MAs from Oxford University and Durham University and an LLB from the College of Law, Edward trained and qualified at Allen & Overy LLP in March 2012 before joining Maurice Turnor Gardner in September 2013.
Edward is listed as an associate to watch in the Chambers HNW Guide 2017 and 2018 where he is described as a highly regarded senior associate and is praised for his excellent technical knowledge and the manner in which he deals with clients. In the most recent Chambers HNW guide, a competitor said of Edward "He can really turn his hand to anything that comes across his desk and can become an expert in anything and has this breadth of knowledge". A commentator notes "He will go the extra mile... and he is on the ball". He is also listed in the Legal 500 where the 2018 guide notes Edward is “very competent, practical and pragmatic”.
