Edward Burton Counsel
Edward specialises in acting for private clients in relation to prime and super prime residential property.
He has experience in working across the spectrum of residential property work, from listed buildings on the London estates and new build super prime apartments to country houses. He regularly acts on the highest value and most complex deals in London. He also advises on enfranchisement and lease extensions as well as working closely with the Private Wealth team on residential property structures. Edward is used to exchanging and completing transactions in very short time frames, and at times, within a day.
Having obtained MAs from Oxford University and Durham University and an LLB from the College of Law, Edward trained and qualified at Allen & Overy LLP in March 2012 before joining Maurice Turnor Gardner in September 2013.
Having previously featured in the 2017 and 2018 editions, Edward is listed in the Chambers HNW Guide 2019 where he is praised for his excellent technical knowledge and the manner in which he deals with clients. Interviewees comment that he is "unquestionably, the most tenacious lawyer in London. He is a problem solver and he works tirelessly with boundless enthusiasm and energy". Others said "He is a brain; he looks at things from 25 angles at the same time and comes up with solutions...you couldn't find a more efficient lawyer out there," while a market commentator notes his "exceptional eye for detail."
