Although the Act was passed in February 2022, a number of provisions are being implemented in stages. A third stage to implement the remaining provisions is expected by the end of 2023 (rather than Autumn 2023). In addition to further changes to the rules relating to charity land, these provisions include changes to the rules on amending governing documents for charities, charity mergers and the Charity Commission’s powers to appoint charity trustees and authorise remuneration.
