Maurice Turnor Gardner appoints new Head of Private Wealth

Fiona Poole

Fiona Poole has been appointed as head of private wealth at Maurice Turnor Gardner LLP (MTG) from 1 November 2022.

A dual qualified solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser, Fiona has been a partner at MTG since 2017, having been the firm’s first lateral hire in 2010 following its demerger from Allen & Overy in 2009. Before joining MTG, Fiona specialised in Entrepreneurs and Private Client tax at PwC.

Fiona has been described by legal directories as “a superb technical lawyer, very hard-working and fantastic with clients” and “a sophisticated all-rounder.”

Ranked Band 1 and Tier 1 in the legal directories, the private wealth team has gone from strength to strength under the leadership of senior partner and co-founder of MTG, Clare Maurice.

Clare, who will remain at the firm as senior partner, said: “Fiona’s reputation in the industry is superb and I am pleased to be handing the reins over to someone with such a wealth of experience. Our clients rely on us to guide them through the most complicated issues and Fiona’s expertise, including her in-depth tax knowledge, puts both the team and the firm in excellent stead for the future.”

Fiona, who qualified in 2005, said: “MTG has a first class private wealth department with a tremendous reputation and I’m looking forward to leading the team into the future.”
